Hibla is the Filipino word for "strand of fiber to be weaved," and true to that definition, Ebarle weaves images of the various Filipino ethnicities (like the Kalinga, Manobo, Maranao, and Tausug) into her works at the Alliance Française de Manille Total Gallery. There's a more detailed write-up on the exhibit here, so be sure to read that if you want to learn more about Ebarle's works, as well as Ebarle herself.

When Catherine — a young woman who's like them in many ways — crosses their path, they realize they might have to share her as well. If that sounds like a plot you can get behind (or you're just fond of French films in general), drop by the Alliance Française de Manille to catch this free(!) movie screening.

Date: February 4, 2017
Time: 7:30 P.M.
Venue: Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila, 10 Newport Blvd., Newport City Complex, Pasay City
You know how some people can make their guitar "sing" and play background music at the same time? Well, Sungha Jung is one of those people. Rising to fame for his prodigious "fingerstyle" covers on YouTube, the 20-year-old South Korean has since become an artist in his own right, releasing his first album Perfect Blue in 2011. Reserve your tickets for his Manila gig on TicketWorld, or sample a few of his covers @jwcfree on YouTube.
Now that we're near the cusp of January and February 2017, it's only fitting that we celebrate it in the best way we can. Whether you prefer art galleries and French films, or cosplay competitions and music concerts, you can find it all via our Events tag.
