Despite its name (which means "spark" in Japanese), Hibana is more Japanese-inspired than Japanese. Helmed by chef Mark Tan, the restaurant specializes in robata (Japanese charcoal grill) dishes, though it also offers classic fare like katsu, sashimi, and sushi. If you're a fan of Tan's first two restaurants (Allium and Studio Kitchen), you'll be a fan of this one too.

You probably know of wagyu, Japan's most expensive beef. But did you know there's a place in Makati where you can eat unlimited amounts of said beef? Yes, you read that right: Hogs and Cattle Steakhouse (which opened just this January) lets you eat all the wagyu dishes you want for only Php899 (roughly US$18). The only wrinkle is that the restaurant is still on "soft opening," and the place is a little small, so you need to reserve ahead of time via their Facebook page if you want to eat here.

Some of their must-tries include the Chicken Cheese Fondue, the Fire Chili Chicken, and the Dosirak (Korean bento box).
